The park like setting of Heritage Square at 7th and Monroe Streets at the east end of downtown Phoenix has been carefully preserved and is today exactly as it was in the 1900’s. For art buffs a trip to the Phoenix Art Museum, situated at 1625 North Central Avenue, Phoenix, is worthwhile making. The galleries here have fine exhibitions that concentrate on Western painting. For something different go to the Desert Botanical Gardens where the world’s biggest collection of cacti, succulents, and desert flora are displayed in natural settings.
