Edinburgh Sights, Sounds and Hotels
Holyrood Park at the eastern end of the Royal Mile in Edinburgh is an open piece of moorland with lovely lochs and hills. From the park’s highest point, ‘Arthur’s Seat’, 823 ft high, and considered a holy place by the Picts, the distant vista of the highlands can be seen beyond the city and surrounding countryside. The surrounding hillside is marked with vestiges of ancient forts and terraces of the Bronze Age. A walk of about 45 minutes will take you from the Palace of Holyrood to the summit.
Edinburgh's Holyrood Park has a reputation of being the largest piece of untouched countryside in a European city. Edinburgh's sights and activities will keep you awe inspired throughout your stay, and the great Edinburgh hotels will keep you in comfort throughout your stay.
